Pre–Arrival Information

Visa Information
All airfare purchases will include the tourist card fee. Most visitors arriving by air to the Dominican Republic, including those from the US, Canada, Great Britain, the European Union, Mexico, and many South American countries only need a valid passport and the bundled tourist card to enter the country. Tourism visas are granted for tourist, cultural trips, attendance at congresses or conventions. They will be valid for 60 days and will be valid for a single entry or for multiple entries. Delegates that need to apply for a tourist visa must confirm the requirements at the Dominican Consulate of their country of residence.

Getting to the hotel from the airport
Transportation from Punta Cana Airport
The airport is owned and managed by Punta Cana Group and is located within less than 10 minutes from the Hotel. There are a number of different taxi companies in the Dominican Republic. A number of Rental Car Agencies are also available at Punta Cana International Airport. The hotel offers VIP lounges at the airport and pick up/drop off subject for an additional fee.

Transportation from Santo Domingo Airport
The International airport of Santo Domingo is located approximately 2 1/12 hours from Punta Cana. There are a number of different taxi companies in the Dominican Republic including Uber. A number of Rental Car Agencies are also available at Santo Domingo International Airport.

The average temperature in Punta Cana in November will be a high of 30°C with a low to be expected of 23°C 

Currency
The currency in Dominican Republic is the Dominican Peso. All other major currencies may be exchanged at the hotel front desk and/or at local banking institutions.

Electric Current
In the Dominican Republic the power plugs and sockets are of type A and B. The standard voltage is 110 V and the standard frequency is 60 Hz.

Exchange
All major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, shops & restaurants. Debit cash dispensing machines are also available. Currency exchanges are normally conducted at a local bank, or whenever possible, at the hotel front desk.

Tax Rate in Dominican Republic
The tax rate for Dominican Republic (VAT) is 18% sales tax rate, this will be added to your purchase of various goods & services.

Dominican Republic’s time zone is Atlantic Standard Time.

Tipping
Tipping is optional, but expected with acceptable service in taxis, restaurants & bars, at a rate of 10-15%.
