PASSPORT AND VISA REQUIREMENTS

Individuals entering the U.S. are generally required to present a passport and valid visa issued by a U.S. Consular Official, unless they are a citizen of a country eligible for the Visa Waiver Program, or are a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. or a citizen of Canada. TRANSPORTATION

Delegates are responsible for their own transportation to and from the airport. Average travel time will vary from the airport to the hotel, depending on the hour and traffic.

 

Miami International Airport (MIA)
to Hotel Colonnade Coral Gables (4.7 miles)

Driving Directions: Travel south on LeJeune Road for four miles. Turn left onto Aragon Avenue. The hotel will be on the right. Approximately 15 minutes.

 

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to Hotel Colonnade Coral Gables (33.4 miles)

Driving Directions: Take Interstate 595 west to Interstate 95 south. Exit onto SR 836 west. Exit onto LeJeune Road south and continue for four miles. Turn left onto Aragon Avenue. The hotel will be on the right. Approximately 45 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

CURRENCY EXCHANGE

The Miami International Airport has foreign currency exchange booths at four locations on the 2nd level throughout the terminal.

 

The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport has foreign currency exchange booths in the Business Service Center on the ticket counter level in Terminal 2 and in the Baggage Claim area in Terminal 4.

 

TIPPING

Tipping is a courtesy to hotel, bar, restaurants and services such as taxis. The common rate varies between 15 to 20% of the bill. When dining in larger groups, please be aware that many restaurants automatically include gratuity in the bill.

 

TAX RATE IN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY

The current local sales tax rate in Miami-Dade County is 7%. This tax is automatically included in the purchase of goods and services.

ELECTRICITY

Electric power is standardized in all states across the U.S. It is set at 110 Volts and 60 cycles. Standard electric plugs have two flat blades. If you bring any electrical appliance to the U.S. you may need an adaptor to change the voltage from 110 volts to 220 volts.
